REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND HAZWRAP PERSONNEL TRAINING. CAS conducted 40-hour OSHA training classes in accordance with 29 CFR 1910 for DOE project managers and hazardous waste operating personnel. The videotaped classes were augmented with hands-on exercises and field demonstrations of personal protective equipment.

PLANS FOR THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION. CAS prepared more than 150 site-specific health and safety plans for projects performed for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
 
DOE ALBUQUERQUE OPERATIONS OFFICE, OFFICE OF ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY AND HEALTH SUPPORT. CAS reviewed environment, safety and health related laws, standards and regulations as they apply to DOE nuclear production and research facilities and developed procedures to ensure that activities affecting the environment, safety and health are in compliance.

SUPPORT TO ROCKY FLATS ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY SITE, PROJECT TO PROCESS MIXED WASTE. In addition to training and oversight of radiological and industrial hygiene activities, CAS prepared health and safety plans; conducted site inspections; evaluated the health and safety and environmental aspects of process equipment design; and implemented a medical surveillance program.
 
INVESTIGATION OF RESPIRATORY DISTRESS CLAIM (CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT). CAS conducted a site visit, viewed the manufacturing process, reviewed Material Safety Data Sheets, conducted site interviews and performed an air quality study to evaluate the possibility that the work environment was the cause of an employee's respiratory distress.

CHARACTERIZATION STUDY AT COMMERCIAL MANUFACTURING SITE. CAS conducted an exposure characterization study to investigate a worker's compensation claim for alleged hypersensitivity pneumonitis.
 
HEALTH AND SAFETY SUPPORT SERVICES AT LOS ALAMOS NATIONAL LABORATORY. CAS provided health and safety support to the Environment, Safety and Health Division of LANL. This support covered radiation protection (criticality safety, nuclear safety analyses, ALARA review, and radioactive waste handling), industrial hygiene (including air quality, noise control, and non-nuclear safety analyses), industrial safety (including fire protection, electrical safety, pressure safety, hoisting and rigging, and vehicle safety), and occupational safety. CAS support also included ESH-ID reviews, corrective activities, records management, document control, quality assurance, training, program/project controls, inspections, appraisals, audits and response to audit/inspection findings.
